Description United States Army shirt belonging to Harvey B. Anderson of Jordan. Shirt is green wool, long sleeved with brown plastic buttons and two front pockets with flaps. Anderson served in World War II from March 16, 1942 through November 24, 1944. He served in the European and African theaters as a Light Artillery Gun Crewman. He was discharged due to poor health. Anderson probably joined the Civil Defense Corps after his discharge and prior to the war's end. Anderson's discharge states he attained the rank of corporal, while the shirt has sergeant's chevrons sewn onto each sleeve. A round, green patch with "CD" (Civil Defense) in red is sewn on the left sleeve above the chevrons.
