Description Jean jacket from the Excelsior-Henderson Motorcycle Manufacturing Company in Belle Plaine. The jacket is black denim with a collar, two front pockets at the chest, two side pockets near the hem, two inside pockets near the hem and button closures down the front and at the cuffs. A black, white and red patch is sewn over the left front pocket. The patch is a large X and reads "Excelsior-Henderson." A large red, black and gray patch is sewn onto the back of the jacket, the patch reads "Motorcycle Company/Excelsior-Henderson/Belle Plaine, Minnesota/Road Crew." A large X is intertwined with Excelsior-Henderson. A black Excelsior-Henderson fabric label is sewn at the back of the neck. It covers the brown leather label of the jacket's maker. Also sewn at the back of the neck is a care label. Jacket is a size large. E-H apparel with "Road Crew" motif were available only to Excelsior-Henderson employees. Employees were encouraged to wear E-H clothing to work, on trips and tradeshows, etc. The donor was the owner of the jacket, she worked at E-H from January 1999 until September 1999 when she was laid off.
