Description Black and white photographic portrait of Leander Gansen with his new wife and their wedding party. There are seven people in the photo standing in a staggered line. Leander is the third person from the left. He is wearing a white tuxedo with a white bow tie. His two groomsmen are also wearing white tuxedos, but they have black bow ties. Mrs. Gansen is wearing a floor length gown of white satin with a court train. The train is spread out on the floor in front of her. There are also covered buttons down the front of the bodice, a stand up collar, and long sleeves. She is also wearing a veil held in place by a modest headpiece. The two bridesmaids are wearing floor length gowns with cap sleeves. There are covered buttons down the front of their bodices and a stand up collar. They are also wearing matching gauntlets and bonnets. The flower girl is wearing a floor length white satin dress with five rows of satin ruffles on the skirt. She is also wearing a tulle bonnet with a short veil. The photo was taken in the photographer's studio in Chaska. The background has a decorative wall in front of a billowing curtain. The wall is made up of four large hinged panels that are painted with scrolling art nouveau motifs.
