Description Black and white photographic portrait of Jerome N. Schmitz and Leona Gertrude Gansen with their bridal party. There are eleven people in the photo standing in a staggered line. Leona and Jerome are in the center. Leona is wearing a floor length gown of marquisette over satin. The bodice has drop shoulders with ruffled lace. The skirt has several layers of ruffled lace in the front. The back of the skirt extends into a train that is trimmed with lace on the edges. Leona is also wearing a fingertip veil trimmed in lace and held in place by a hear shaped head piece. She is holding a bouquet of Easter lilies. Jerome is wearing a double-breast six-button suit with a neck tie. He has a white carnation pinned to his lapel. The groomsmen are wearing suits in a similar style to the groom, but they are different colors. The bridesmaids dresses were identical in style with drop shoulders trimmed with ruffles of lace and marquisette, a fitted bodice, floor length skirt made full by a crinoline. The flower girl, Darleen Schmitz (niece of the groom), wore a frock similar in style to the bride. She is also wearing a lace trimmed elbow length veil held in place by a lace bonnet. The photo was taken in the photographer's studio in Chaska. The background has a decorative wall in front of a billowing curtain. The wall is made up of four large hinged panels that are painted with scrolling art nouveau motifs.
